So here's how my day starts. Apparently I failed to look at the school calendar because I got my sleepy babies up at 6:45 AM got them fed, dressed and in the car only to get to school and realize that school does not start back until tomorrow!!! I felt better after looking around and realizing I was not the only one who made the mistake! Why would school start back on a Tuesday!?!?! I felt so bad!
Today I am thankful for an extra day at home with my babies, all 3 of them! Today was also Allie's first day back from her vacation and it took a little adjusting! I'm off to bed, gotta an early start, because tomorrow school really does start back!!!

This is going to be a short post. Its after midnight and -Im just getting home from picking Al up from the airport.Today I am thankful for my mother who went through hell getting Al to and from Maryland! Keeping an extremely active almost two year old still for three hours each way is no easy task. And to make matters worse the passengers around her were not the friendlist! If you get the option go with Southwest rather than Continental! Southwest is far more family friendly and you don't have to pay for your bags! Thank you Mom; Al, Tony and I all appreciate it!!!

Today I am thankful for a clean house! While Allie is gone I took the time to deep clean most of the house today! There is nothing better than a spotless house in my opinion! And with school starting back Monday it makes life so much easier to be organized! Allie comes home tomorrow along with my camera so new pics. and of course another update :)

My New Year's resolution this year is to create a post EVERYDAY of 2010! I have done a blog challenge before when I posted everyday in November...but this goal isn't a month, it's a year! Much harder! I got the idea from http://vietnamlucy.blogspot.com/. And if I can pull it off I think it will be a cool keepsake for the kids to have! I'm also going to try and post something I'm thankful for everyday!
Today I'm thankful for quality time with my older kids. Tony has Allie in Maryland allowing me a much needed break and lots of quality time with Joe & Julie. Allie is, shall we say, "high maintenance" and literally keeps me on my toes all day long! So I don't get as much one-on-one time with them as I'd like. Today, we have not left the house the entire day! We have been hanging out with Cindy, relaxing and playing Wii! It's nice to just be with them without any distractions! They are growing up so fast and it both sacares and amazes me when I stop to think about it!

Joe's School Eval.
So I went to Joe's doctor apt. this morning only to find out that they scheduled us in the wrong office so it had to be moved to tomorrow morning at 10. That's okay because I already had a packed schedule. I had a policy council meeting at 10 then an eval with Joe's teacher, then an enrollment appointment to get Julianna in school for next year.
I was nervous about Joe's evaluation. As most of you know Joe has Asperger's Syndrome. Now, Asperger's is not an excuse or free pass. Yes, he will have trouble in some areas but he will just have to work harder than the rest of the kids. I was expecting him to be somewhere in the bottom 25% of his class. I was pleasantly surprised when his teacher said he is in the TOP 25%!!! That's HUGE for Joe! Here is a list of some of his accomplishments...
*Knows how to write his name
*Know his name by sight
*Knows 6 letters by sight (the goal is to know 10 going into kindergarten next year)
*Can sing the alphabet
*Knows Author, Illustrator and parts of a book
*Can draw a picture to reflect a story that was read
*Can give daily news
*Knows patterns
*Can count to 25
I knew going into the eval. he could do most of this I just didn't know what was "normal" at his age. Apparently, he is right on track, even AHEAD of some kids! I am so proud of him! The teacher said that Joe is really funny! He apparently is always cracking jokes in class! And his teacher said that she has never seen a more proud big brother! He is always talking about "his girls" (aka. his sisters)! His teacher also said he is always looking out for the other little girls in class. How sweet is that?

Catching Up
So in order to get this blog up to date so I can start posting regularly again (it's a goal of mine) I need to get everyone up to date. Let's start the biggest news...
* Allie turned ONE on the 25th!!!! We started the day with a stop by the donut store to get her favorite breakfast (donut holes). We then went to Monkey-N-Around, an indoor playground and she had a blast playing with all the toys. We then came home and had dinner (potatoes, carrots and chicken...her favorite dinner) and then had cake and ice cream which she enjoyed immensely! I took a ton of pictures but unfortunately they are not uploaded on this computer. You can see them at my myspace www.myspace.com/lizpilkerton. It's public and all of the pictures are in an album there. She has 10 teeth now with more coming in all the time. Every time I look in her mouth I see new ones. She isn't walking yet. Today she did stand alone and took two steps so I was really excited about that.
*Julie is still her fun loving sweet self. I have so much fun with her. She truly is a joy. Right now she is still SO into her dance class and lately all she has been talking about is wanting to be in pageants. Today she said "You want to be a pageant mom?" NO Julianna I don't. I don't say that to her but that's how I feel. I'm not into the whole idea of pageants, I'm hoping this is a phase of hers and she will forget about it soon!!!
*I'm really worried about Joe lately. Over the last two weeks he has developed a really bad stutter, that is getting progressively worse. He has a doctor's appointment tomorrow morning so hopefully I'll find out what's going on then. He even says now "Mommy why do I stutter?" It's heartbreaking. And it's not a mild stutter...it's bad! I'll update tomorrow and let you know what I find out. With everything going on lately, it may just be his way of dealing with stress. Thankfully Bubba and I haven't been fighting but I think just the whole idea of us living in different places now is alot for him to handle.
*As for me I've been doing okay. Life has obviously gotten a lot more difficult with me having to do ALL the work. Bubba sees them Wednesday and Saturday. He is now in AA and I must say that he is making huge progress. His mind is in a good place right now and he seems really focused. I have been staying busy with the kids and their activities. I've been helping plan Joe's pre-school graduation (May 19th) and working on Julianna's dance recital (May 23rd).
Anyway, that's us in a nut shell right now. Hope life is going well for all of you. I'll update tomorrow after Joe's appointment.

Sorry for the Absence
I know I have majorly been neglecting this blog. Alot has been going on in life right now and I have in a way been "hiding" from it all. And when I say that I mean just not in the mood to talk about it. I'm better this week than I was last and plan on getting back to blogging, especially blogging about the kids, which is probably where I will keep the focus of this blog. I didn't want anyone to think I had fallen off the earth, just on a brief hiatis. More to come tomorrow.

Home
So another update long overdue! I'm slowly getting back into the swing of things and with that will be the return of daily updates and pictures!
So...we're home as you can see from the title. We had a fabulous time in Maryland, probably one of our best trips so far. The kids were excellent on the plane and all in all very will behaved. I seriously couldn't have asked for anymore out of them! We're planning on going back for about a month in the middle of the summer June/July.
We've been slowly getting back to life as normal. Allie had a check up on Saturday. She was 21 pounds 5 ounces. I thought nothing of the weight till I got home and checked Julianna's weight at that age. Julie was 25 pounds 6 ounces! Holy cow what a huge weight difference between the two! I had a feeling Allie was smaller because she is still in onsies and wears 18 month clothes. I had recalled Julianna outgrowing onsies at about 8 months and knew at age 1 Julie wore a 2T. I hadn't realized by how much Allie was my smallest baby! I'm going to get some comparison pictures together for my blog topic tomorrow.
Joe and Julie are doing good. Joe was beyond thrilled to get back to school, he really missed it! Me, Jules and Allie went to his school on Friday to have snack with him. He is doing really well, we are so proud of him! Julianna was back at dance class on Wednesday. She jumped right in there like she had never been gone. He teacher told me that Julianna "is the life of the party" and went on about how much they missed her while she was gone!
We are really enjoying the weather. I got right home and packed up all our sweat suites, jackets, hats, mittens, ect. and put them in the attic. Some days the kids sill need jeans but mostly it is in the 60's...how can we not LOVE Texas weather!
Be back tomorrow!

An Update from Maryland!
We're in Maryland!!!!...I know long overdue update since we've been here almost 2 weeks! We are having a great time, busy, but great!
First thing first-My new new niece Ashlynn! She is so precious! It's weird how fast you forget how small a newborn actually is. Allie was her age just 10 short months ago but holding Ashlynn it feels like an eternity since Allie was that small! I've had a lot of fun spending time with Madison and Bradley also! The last time we were in Maryland we had a lot of trouble with "fighting" kids. Joe, Julie, Madison and Bradley are so close in age that there is bound to be fights. This visit has been much better "fight" wise then the last. They are of course all older now and seem to really being enjoying each other's company. And during play they all have roles, Maddie is the boss, Joey does is own thing and Julie and Bradley can't be separated. Those two can play together for hours!
If you follow my blog you know that Joey was supposed to be going home with my step-dad Ron yesterday to go back to school. Well yesterday came and Joe was so upset about leaving that my dad offered to buy his ticket (his other ticket home was with a different airline than mine) and he is now staying the rest of the trip and going home with me! Thank you dad! I guess I thought he would be ready to go home without me and he just wasn't. I can't really blame him. I called his school and let them know the situation and they were good about it. So the next trip home I will have to take into consideration Joe's school schedule and work around it instead of sending him home early without us...lessons learned! At least it's just pre-school!
Right now Allie is sick (we have all been sick this trip unfortunately) and is looking ruff! She has a bad cold in her eyes of all places and the startings of a nasty cough. Tony has been extremely helpful with the kids. Because of the number of kids that are all under one roof at Jackie's and the limited amount of space there we have been staying at his place. It's been a God send really. It enables us a quiet place for the kids to unwind, sleep, take baths, ect. I have pretty much been able to keep them on their schedules which has made for much more pleasant days! And thanks to Tony for getting the kids toys to play with at his house, that was a live savor too. There is nothing worse than bored toddlers! We usually get up in the morning and get to Jackie's anywhere from 8:00-2:00 depending on what we have planned and head back to Tony's in the mid to late afternoon.
Not real sure what we have planned for the rest of the trip. This has been a really relaxing trip. Not many plans, just going with the flow! I know I want to get back to Bubba's parents house at least one more time. My kids don't get to see them very often and I can tell how much my kids miss them! I also want the kids to spend some more time with my father. They have already been to the firehouse with him and I hear a trip to the museum is in the works! I want to get a trip in to D.C.! Tony and I were talking about going next weekend only to forget the fact that Inauguration is the 20th so we are going to try to fit that in tomorrow or Sunday.
I'll try to post again before I leave. Don't have any pictures on Tony's computer right now so if you click the link to my myspace on the right side of the screen you can see a few I've put in some albums there. I'll post the entire album of photos when I get home!
Hope everyone is having a great 2009, I know we are! And if your reading this...MOM, we DO miss you :)

Catching Up
I know I've been neglecting my blog.
Christmas was a success! The kids were beyond thrilled Christmas morning! The Christmas All-Star toys this year were the kitchen, both kids ADORE this! We have been "eating" and "cooking" up a storm since Christmas! Joey's favorite toy by far was spike and Julianna loves her Princess dress up clothes (as you can see in the last picture of the last post!). And she is so funny when she has it on...you can't call her Julie or Julianna, she is PRINCESS JULES! She'll correct you in a second if she isn't called by this while wearing her princess outfit!
As I've stated before in previous posts, I have been concerned about Allie not pulling up. Well 2 days ago I was making a sandwich and turned around to find this...

Allie pulled herself up and was standing!!!! I was beyond thrilled...and a lot relieved! Thankfully my camera was sitting right on the counter and I was able to capture this milestone! She is now pulling up on EVERYTHING!
We leave for Maryland tomorrow! I am soooo excited about this trip! I have a few concerns about the flight. Flying with 3 kids is never fun or easy. Wish us luck! So tons of pictures in the near future! I can't wait to get my hands on my sweet niece born a week ago! More to come soon! Hope you and your family had a wonderful holiday!

A Few Updates
So I have a couple new things to "report" on.
1. We found Julianna's glasses!!!!! Huge relief! I honestly didn't think I would ever find them. But low and behold cleaning out Joey's room and there they were sitting perfectly unharmed under a toybox. And the thing is we had moved that toybox to clean the carpets about 6 weeks ago. We are all still amazed that they are found and are a little bewildered on how they got under the toybox and why we hadn't seen them earlier. Hmmm...
2. She is actually WEARING them!!! She gets up every morning (the last 3 mornings) and puts them on and leaves them on all day. A Christmas Miracle in itself! We have been trying to get her to do this for the last year and a half!
3. Julianna's last day of therapy was Friday. As I said before I have had mixed emotions about this in the past. I'm fine with it now. I am going to miss her therapist. She has been a huge part of Julianna's life for the past 2 years. I owe them so much gratitude! I didn't get any pictures on her last day but I do have to go into the office on Monday to pick up Julianna's new braces so I'll take some pics. then. It is going to feel strange not taking the drive to Porter every Friday, it's all we've known the last 2 years. They will re-evaluate her in 3 months just to make sure she is not regressing and then that's it!
4. Joey won a bike from his dentist office!!! Every kids who had a dentist apt. in December was entered into the drawing and Joe won! We pick it up on Monday!
5. Allie cut her 5th and 6th tooth today! It is the ones on either side of her two front teeth! Maybe that is the reason for the constant crying the last couple of days? My poor baby, I'll be so glad when this teething stage is done with!

Bittersweet Birthday
Today would have been Allie's Scott's 5th Birthday. It's hard to think that she would have been 5. I've been sad all morning (it's going to be a long day), I can only imagine how Jenny feels. It so unfair that things like this have to happen. I'm loving on my kids a little extra today. If it's one thing Allie's life has taught me it's the life and health is a gift and definitely not promised.
Happy Birthday Angel Baby. If there is a heaven I know you are there.
In honor and loving memory of
Allie Scott

M.I.A.
So I know I've been "missing" for a couple days. The whole house has been sick. It started off with a horrible stomach bug that went on a rampage through the house. Then Allie got Strep Throat. So we are all just now getting healthy again. I'm also having memory card problems. For some reason I can't get pictures from my memory card to the computer so that's been ticking me off. Anyway, enough complaining.
While Allie was at the doctors for her throat we found out she weighs 21 lbs 6oz. At this age (10 months) Julianna weighed 25lbs 6oz. Allie is definitely our smallest baby at this point by 4 whole pounds (Joe weighed the most at this age)! And really she is not "small" at all! I'm a little worried about her because she is not really pulling herself up yet. I feel like she should be. I know kids hit milestones at different times and I don't think anything is wrong with her. I am just slightly concerned about this.
Joe and Julie are so excited about Christmas! They ask me everyday "When is Christmas"! They are both at such a great age! Joe has a field trip on Friday to the Post Office and surprisingly he is really looking forward to it. Joe has been making lots of progress lately. His latest acomplishment is dressing himself. I lay his clothes out the night before and every morning he gets up and gets himself dressed! This is just so exciting to me! He amazes me all the time at the things he is doing, granted there are things that he is not able to do but I really stay positive and concentrate on what he is doing.
Eyes are getting heavy, I'll be back tomorrow to finish this post and with some new pics...hopefully!

It's SNOWING!!!
It's snowing in the Houston area! We can't believe it!!! The news said it was going to snow but no one believed it. I mean it doesn't snow in Houston Texas, not the Houston Texas that was in the 60's over the weekend! Not the Houston Texas that MAKES THEIR OWN FAKE SNOW so the poor snow deprived Texan children can look at and wish for in their own yards! Yes, in case you didn't catch that...our malls and museums this time of year set aside an outdoor area and have snow machines blow snow onto children (who are usually wearing shorts!) so they know what it feels like to have snow! Well it did and it is... SNOWING! We were at dinner tonight when it started snowing and you would have thought the entire restaurant had won the lottery! We were then informed that it hadn't snowed like this since 1993! I heard one lady describe it as a "December Miracle"! We are all on cloud 9! Not to mention it's Julianna and Allie's first ever snow! The kids haven't been able to get out in it. Not sure if it will be here still in the morning but if it is I'll for sure add pictures of them in it!

Plane Tickets...Check!
I'm an avid list maker, I have a list for EVERYTHING! This time of year I have many lists! I can officially check plane tickets off! We purchased them on Saturday! We'll be in Maryland December 30th through January 18th! Joe can't miss that much school so he is flying out with me and flying home with Ron on January 9th. So the thinking and stressing begins...flying with 3 kids ALONE...AHHHH!!! I will stress over the logistics of this trip until it's happening! I'll post more about this in a later blog, can't bare to think about it right now!
Another stress is Christmas! I always stress over presents, did I spend enough? did I get them enough? This year will be a little less than last year. We just spent $700 on plane tickets (oh yeah they went up $30 each way the day after I posted that they were $89 each way...I was ticked!) so I'm not going to have as much as I did last year. I'm aiming at $250 a kid ($150 a kid already purchased). And my dad always spends a good amount of them too so that should be enough. I don't know why I stress on this subject each year but I do. I wish I was more laid back!!! Because really the kids are happy no matter what you spend! And I know presents aren't what this season is all about...right now at 5, 2.5 and 9 months it's all they know! Try explaining to a two year old what Christmas is all about! She just stands there and looks at you like you have 3 heads. Last year I tried the whole "It's "supposed" to be Jesus' birthday that we are celebrating", they just don't get it yet.
I promised a picture of the Christmas tee...it's coming! I haven't taken one because it's still not done! I have been so SLACK this year on decorating. I'm usually on the ball but I've been in a slump! So I'm going to get off of here and "attempt" to make some progress!
